Start with a Consultation Diving deeper into who I am, who you are, if what I offer fits your needs, and get a sense of our vibe together. For doula services I recommend that if you interview with me that you interview at least one additional person.
Afterwards I’ll send you a Services + Investment Guide with all the info and a booking link. I ask for a 35% deposit of your total to book.
Once you book with me, I’ll send you a Welcome Kit and I’m all yours!

For the most part, anytime is fine within reason, but if you’re a planner here are my recommendations:
Doula + Birth Photography In your first or second trimester. I take a 1 doula client per month.
Pregnancy Portraits In your second trimester. I’m usually booked 1-2 months out, and I typically take your photos at the beginning-middle of your third trimester
Babies In your second or third trimester. We’ll book a tentative date, and I’ll adjust my schedule to accommodate when your baby is born.
Families Preferably at least 1 month before you want to schedule your session. I offer mini sessions as my schedule allows for folks who need to sneak in.
Couples/Partners Photography Within 6 weeks is ideal; at least 2 weeks before you want your session.
Heirloom Sessions Preferably at least 1 month in advance

I do!
You have the option to submit a minimum booking deposit (10% of total) and make a customized payment plan that works for you and your family.
For trades + bartering - it depends and I don’t always need a trade, but things like an oil change, blonde hair specialist appointment, tattoos, etc. can sometimes be factored in to bring down the cost or cover it.
I offer discount rates for folks receiving Medicaid, WIC, or SNAP benefits - get in touch!

Short answer: no.
Longer answer below.
Private Insurance: The bad news is I can’t process insurance through my practice. The so-so news is that I give all of my clients documentation that they can use to request a reimbursement from their insurance company, but it’s a bit of a coin toss. The pretty good news is that usually you can use your FSA/HSA.
Medicaid: Doulas are covered by Medicaid in Indiana through specific programs, like Nurse Family Partnership and the Indiana Minority Health Coalition. These orgs have doulas on staff they match clients with. If you are on Medicaid and can’t pay for a doula, check them out to see if you qualify for their program. I do offer discounts for people receiving Medicaid, WIC, or SNAP benefits, but I cannot offer free services.

I do! You can book me for stand alone doula services if you’d like to.

Short answer: yes!
Most of my clients have their babies at hospitals. I’m comfortable and skilled in working in a hospital environment and with both midwives and OBs.
I attend birth center and home births on a case by case basis - get in touch and we can talk more!

I am vaccinated and boosted, and take recommended precautions to prevent getting COVID. I offer virtual, back up, and rescheduling options in the case that I or a client gets sick. I see clients in person if they are vaccinated; virtually if they are unvaccinated. I always wear a mask at your birth.

Heck yeah, I do!
I often have clients in Michigan and Chicagoland and I travel up to a hour radius. My standard radius is 2.5 hours from South Bend, and for folks over 45 minutes outside of South Bend I ask for a $200 travel fee.
Outside of that radius, but want me to be your doula or photographer? Babe, send me a message and tell me where you are! I love working with travel clients. <3
For travel clients by request: a travel fee is included and depends on the when, where, and why of it all.
Sometimes I’m in your city and taking bookings, so keep up with me on the gram if you want to know when that might be.

YES.
I’m comfortable with taking pictures of anything. Most of my clients want vulnerable, intimate pictures taken, and often during births, pregnancy portraits, or in some side projects my clients are emotionally and physically intimate, partially or completely undressed, and even sensual. I work to co-create a space that my clients feel safe to be vulnerable in and just exist in front of the camera.
With that said, it can feel awkward to ask, and it’s normal to feel awkward or shy at moments. It’s all about how you feel and what you want.
Here’s how it works:
we discuss in advance what you would and wouldn’t prefer pictures of during your birth or other pregnancy portraits.
I have you learn 2 code words to create a safe space and allow you to establish boundaries in the moment as well: PAUSE, which means I stop taking pictures and we take a beat and check in, and STOP, which means I stop taking pictures and get out of your space, and we don’t resume unless you want to, and until you are ready.
I check in along the way and ask specific questions so you know exactly what you are saying yes and no to. Depending on what I sense is needed from the moment, I may be chatty with you or I may offer you silence to settle into.
Most importantly, you get to decide what happens.

I’m a small business owner and my prices pay for my services, overhead, health care, rent, groceries, etc. My fee reflects my education, experience, and is comparable to other qualified doulas and photographers in the area. With that said, I believe in accessibility.
I offer my clients payment plans, a low-income discount, and provide documentation for a reimbursement request from insurance or to use a HSA/FSA.

I have three (delightful, gorgeous, and whip-smart) back up doulas that I work with and can call on if needed who i trust implicitly with my clients and have the same approach and values as i do in this work.
Having a back up doula join you is usually in a case that I can’t join you right away so they come until I arrive, or something similar. If they do stay for the entire birth, they will join us at your postpartum visit.

A pregnancy loss is one of the most heartbreaking experiences anyone can have, and if this happens my heart goes out to you more than you know. I offer a full refund in these cases. Sometimes people ask me to move forward as their doula, photographer, or both, and support them and document their miscarriage or labor. Sometimes people want me to hold their deposits for future services. I am comfortable with any of those options.
